Dear Guest
As Chairman of the Scientific Advisory
Committee of the European Society
for Clinical and Economic Aspects of
Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ESCEO),
this is a pleasure to welcome
you to this 8th European Congress
on Clinical and Economic Aspects of
Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ECCEO8).
Highlights
The morning session of Friday April
11 started with the communication
of Professor Compston who reminded
us that in many countries only
a minority of patients with osteoporotic
fractures receive appropriate
treatment despite the existence
of evidence-based guidelines (PL5).
Awards
At the end of the second plenary
session of the first day of
the Seventh ECCEO meeting, the
European Society for Clinical and
Economical Aspect of Osteoarthritis
and Osteoporosis (ESCEO) had the
pleasure to present the recipients
of the Amgen Young investigator
Award 2008. These grants were
generously supported by Amgen
towards the two highest scored
abstract of the ECCEO8 meeting.
